Dr Omar Alsayed is a locally trained Medical Doctor (MD) and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with over 10 years of Medical Experience. He has extensive experience across general practice and minor surgical procedures. He is a passionate, caring family doctor with significant expertise in infant circumcision and minor surgery. Our Circumcision Methods
Surgical Cut Method
This method uses a specialised surgical clamp to allow precise, controlled removal of the foreskin. It is a well-established technique that has been used safely for decades and is now performed using modern equipment and refined clinical expertise.
Plastibell Ring Method
The Plastibell method uses a specialised plastic ring that remains in place temporarily after the procedure. This modern technique is well established and can be particularly suitable in certain cases and for slightly older infants.
Dr Alsayed will discuss both methods with you during your consultation. The most suitable method is based on your baby's clinical suitability and parental preference. Where both methods are appropriate, parents can choose their preferred method after discussing the options with Dr Omar. Both methods are performed with the highest standards of care, using local anaesthetic to ensure your baby's comfort throughout the procedure.
